To settle some questions

Tonight while at the Front, there was some confusion about the Manhattan Project and its links to Chicago IL.

Just for the record here is a link describing the role of women for the Manhatten Project located in the U of Chicago, more specifically the Metallurgical Labratory (sometimes referred to as the "Met Lab").

Oh, and a timeline.

A bio that includes references to the project.

Oh, and a dedication to Enrico Fermi.

You know, all I can think of is how ironic it is the fastest resource I found was a women's history paper and that is the class I am thoroughly getting my ass kicked.

Now maybe I can sleep.

Occasionally, when we visited Chicago, my father used to tell us about the chain reaction created underneath the bleachers of Stagg Field.

Once again, the Big Ten rules!! (although, by then, U of Chicago was out of the Big Ten).

the reason this story came up was that my brother-in-law's grandfather was there with Fermi and said that they (grad students) had containers of liquid nitrogen in case it got out of control.
